Our child is apparently very stubborn and tricky. :-) I made sure to drink plenty of sugary stuff right before I went in to my appointment, but that didn't do much for us. We got a great shot of the baby's legs and "special" area - along with a great shot of the umbilical cord blocking everything that we need to see! Soooo... we still don't know if it's a boy or girl.
On a positive note - the baby looked wonderfully healthy and just the right size, so all is well!

What the deal? She/he is a stubborn little fella! Thankfully your doctor gives you regular ultrasounds!

Surprises are good to! Just kidding... I know it's a bummer to not know. Maybe next time... you did say they do lots of these right?
